MONTICELLO – Four Monticello suspectts have been arrested and charged with committing several burglaries during Christmas Eve and into the early morning of Christmas Day.
All of the crimes were committed in the Village of Monticello and village police investigated and made the arrests.
Tameka Robinson, 29, was charged with two counts of burglary and one count of grand larceny.
Joseph Koelpin, 32, was charged with two counts of burglary and one count of grand larceny, along with two counts of criminal mischief, criminal possession of stolen property and resisting arrest.
Paul Ellis, 37, was charged with two counts of burglary and one count of grand larceny.
Alexander Levine, 35, was charged with two counts of burglary and one count of grand larceny.
The arrests were made as a result of an ongoing investigation into several reported burglaries over a 12-hour period at the Broadway Estates residences on Waverly Place.
Monticello Police were assisted in identifying the suspects after obtaining video surveillance footage, which recorded the burglaries as they occurred at the complex.
Robinson and Koelpin were arrested Wednesday evening. Koelpin attempted to run from officers but was caught. Ellis and Levine were arrested Friday afternoon.
All four were arraigned and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail on high bail.
Police said an investigation is continuing and the defendants are expected to be charged with other counts of burglary and larceny.
Monticello Police were assisted by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and District Attorney’s Office.
