Sullivan County sheriff’s PBA seeks more road patrol officers

MONTICELLO – It has been five years since the ranks of the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol have been increased and the president of the PBA is asking the county legislature to allow the hiring of more deputies.

Union President Jack Harb said the road patrol is being “decimated” by the staff shortage.

“We have cars on the road that have more experience than 19 of our members,” he said.

The county had imposed a hiring freeze from 2008 to 2012.
