GOSHEN – If you are planning to celebrate New Year’s Eve at your favorite pub and you have a little too much to drink, don’t get behind the wheel. That was the message from law enforcement officials from across Orange, Sullivan, Rockland, Putnam and Westchester counties at the annual Dana Distributors’ drink responsibly event on Friday at their Goshen headquarters.
Instead, leave your car keys at home and take a cab or Uber home thanks to Dana.
State Police Captain Art Worden said police will be watching out for you.
“We will be out there in full force to ensure the safety of everyone on the roads. This program will help those who decide not to drink and drive to get home safely,” he said.
“There is never an excuse to drink and drive,” said Orange County District Attorney David Hoovler.
That message was echoed by Putnam County Executive Kevin Byrne, State Assemblyman Karl Brabenec and Orange County Sheriff Paul Arteta.
