FALLSBURG- Republican Fallsburg Town Supervisor Kathy Rappaport has been defeated by Democratic challenger Michael Bensimon by a margin of 71 percent to 29 percent. Rappaport has served as supervisor since 2021. Bensimon’s victory comes as a result of the support he received from the town’s Jewish community, who supported him in a sizeable voting bloc.
The two seats up for grabs on the town board resulted in a split, with Democrat Nathan Steingart securing 1,196 votes, and Republican Jeff Wiener securing 926.
