PARKSVILLE- A years-long feud between the owners of Cabernet Frank’s and the proprietor of a neighboring business, Peter’s Glass, has turned into a legal battle that is disrupting the otherwise quiet hamlet of Parksville in the Town of Liberty. The feud, which stretches back years, began over a dispute over feral cats.
Since the disagreement began, the owner of Peter’s Glass, Joe Peters, has been arrested and charged with harassment and assault. Peters even served time in the Sullivan County jail.
The owners of Cabernet Frank’s, RJ Baker, and Wade St. Germain, were also arrested and charged with violating a judge’s order after they posted a photo on social media of their neighbor, Peters, urinating.
Following the arrest of Baker and St. Germain, some members of the community wrote to the Sullivan County Sheriffs Office and alleged that Baker and St. Germain, who are married and are business partners, were treated poorly by law enforcement because they are gay. Undersheriff Eric Chaboty denied those claims.
