Maria Opeaye, hailing from the vibrant city of New Orleans, Louisiana, and raised in the dynamic metropolis of Atlanta, Georgia, is a formidable force in the world of business and sports. Maria’s journey took her to the picturesque coastal city of Santa Barbara, where she honed her legal acumen at the Santa Barbara College of Law. Following her time in law school, Maria returned to Atlanta, where she embarked on a multifaceted career as a single serial entrepreneur. Her remarkable achievements include being a published author of over eight books, the creative mind behind M’Opeaye Shoes, a sought-after coffee brand, London Marie Coffee, and holding certifications in mediation and arbitration.Â
In June 2021, Maria shattered barriers by becoming the 2nd African American Female Professional Soccer Agent for the USA Soccer Federation. Building on this success, she launched Neoteric Sports & Entertainment, her own sports agency, in the same year. Her dedication to the world of soccer continued as she became the first Female African American female professional soccer team owner in March 2022, taking ownership of the Memphis Americans professional men and women’s soccer club. Maria recently has added a second professional soccer team to her ownership portfolio. MarÃa became a minority owner of the Magic City SC professional men and women’s soccer team in September 2023.
