TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – The second annual VFW Auxiliary Post 170 pig roast is going forward despite a forecast of rain for Saturday, October 21. The event is taking place at the VFW Post 170 hall located at 1 Violet Avenue in Poughkeepsie from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Auxiliary President Dawn Roger worked with members of the post to move the fundraising event indoors to avoid the weather. “Our BBQ Chef, Los Wood, is cooking the pork outside and his delicious traditional BBQ food will be served to our attendees inside,” she said. “We will still have the same festive atmosphere that we had last year, including live music, door prizes, a tremendous amount of amazing raffle prizes, and more and we are looking forward to everyone having a great time.”
Tickets are $30 for adults and$10 for children under the age of 10. A well-stocked cash bar serving adult beverages will be available for those who choose to wash down the great food with a beer or drink.
