It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas in several Western New York communities where tree-lighting ceremonies are being held starting this week.
Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino
Seneca Niagara Resort & Casino will light up the giant tree outside the resort’s Fourth Street entrance above Seneca Square at 5:30 p.m. today. This year’s celebration will include former Bills quarterback Jim Kelly joined by some of Buffalo’s team mascots. Frankie Scinta will perform. Cookies and hot cocoa will be available for guests watching the celebration. The tree lighting will be streamed live on the casino’s Facebook page. Parkside Tree Lighting and Holiday Market
The Parkside Avenue Business District will hold its ceremonial tree lighting from 5:30 to 6 p.m. todayย at the Old Buffalo Zoo entrance on Parkside. The event will include a carol performance by the Buffalo Girl Choir.
Lewiston Christmas Walk and Christmas Lights Parade
Hosted by Upwardย Niagara Chamber of Commerce, the annual Lewiston Christmas Walk starts Friday. A tree-lighting ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. Friday and will include performances fromย Harmonia Chamber Singers, Greater Niagara Ballet, Lewiston Dance Center, Janet Dunstan Dance Academy, St. Peter’s Catholic School Choir and a community singalong.
Hertel Business Association’s Hertel Holiday Walk and Tree-Lighting Ceremony
The annual tree-lighting ceremony and the Hertel Holiday Walk will be held at 6 p.m. Friday. Children will have the opportunity to send letters to the North Pole at the Santa’s mailbox event.
West Seneca Tree-Lighting Ceremony
The West Senecaย Civic & Patriotic Commission will present its third annual tree lighting celebration from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday behind the West Seneca Community Center. Holiday activities will include a holiday market with vendors from the local farmers’ market, musicalย entertainment, food trucks and activities for kids….
