The Buffalo Bills remain in search of shovelers to help clear Highmark Stadium in advance of Monday’s AFC wild-card playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Parking lots will open at the normal time at 12:30 p.m. for a 4:30 pm game, with gates opening at 2:30.
“We’re still looking for more snow shovelers out here. We put the call out several times,” Andy Major, the Bills’ vice president of operations and fan experience, told WGR on Monday morning. “It’s not pretty out there. We got 3 feet of snow. Information on how to join the shoveling crew can be found here. Major said many of the team’s full-time employees also are out shoveling.
Major said the intent is continue to shovel up until the gates open, and then “troubleshooting teams” will be available throughout the day for particular areas that need additional attention.
“We want to get as many people as we can to make it as comfortable as we can for fans and as safe as we can for fans,” Major said. “This was a huge storm overnight on a game night. It’s a tough one for all of us. Bills Mafia always rallies and gets things done, and we’re trying to make that happen one more time and beat the Steelers today and get to next week.”
Major noted the decision to postpone from Sunday was “100%” the right call.
“I think everybody agrees with that one,” he said. “There is no way we could have played that game yesterday. It would have been impossible.”
Here are a few areas that Major touched on:
Parking: “The parking lots will be pretty good, for the most part. We are losing some of the spaces because of pushing the snow around, but our stadium ops team, along with our partners, they were able to save most of the parking lot and truck some of the snow out of here. We are hopeful to…
