Plenty of Pittsburghers will be among you at today’s snow-delayed playoff game. Give these visiting fans some good-natured razzing, if you like, but leave the actual hostilities to the combatants on the field.
Joe DeLamielleure will be watching from his home in South Carolina on Sunday when the Buffalo Bills play the Pittsburgh Steelers in a wild-card playoff game at Highmark Stadium. And he’ll be looking for revenge. The Steelers clobbered DeLamielleure’s Bills, 32-14, in the first playoff game of Buffalo’s NFL history, in December 1974.
You already know that. Bills fans have a reputation of being mostly welcoming to fans from other cities. Even so, we figured a gentle reminder may be in order, given some of the nastiness online this week. As temperatures fell outside, they rose on X, the forum for pointless argument formerly known as Twitter.
Primanti Brothers, the famous Pittsburgh sandwich shop, tweeted (then deleted) this after the NFL decided to delay by a day: “Buffalo is soft. #LetItSnow.”
