It’s the January matchup that Buffalo Bills fans have been eager to see happen at home for the past several years.
Yet ticket prices on the secondary market for Sunday’s Bills against Kansas City Chiefs game at Highmark Stadium with a berth to the AFC Championship on the line have not reflected that.
For the first time in six games, Chiefs-Bills will actually be here and not Kansas City.
A ticket can be had for a little under $200, including fees, on the secondary market, as of Wednesday morning.
That’s relatively affordable given the significance of the game and rivalry that’s been formed between the teams in recent seasons. The matchup also features two of the NFL’s most talented and dynamic quarterbacks in Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes.
“I would have expected the (cheapest seats) to be more like a $375 to $400 ticket and up for this type of game, and we’re probably at about half of that,” said Nick Giammusso, president and CEO of Buffalo ticket agency VIPTIX. “Even the season opener was probably more like $300 a ticket and up. This pales in comparison.”
It may be the harsh Buffalo winter, after two lake-effect snowstorms less than a week apart, that will keep some fans on both sides at home to watch this game, even with temperatures…
