Amy Latimer has been in rare company as a woman leading the business operations at TD Garden in Boston for the last 12 years.
Buffalo-headquartered global hospitality company Delaware North has a few more years left on its contract at KeyBank Center to win over some of the new leadership put into place by the arena’s main tenant – the Buffalo Sabres.
Now, she’s taking on another high-profile role in the male-dominated sports business. Latimer this summer snagged a promotion and last month began running the vast operations of Buffalo-based Delaware North’s global hospitality business as executive vice president and chief operations officer.
Latimer will be the highest-ranking woman at Delaware North, solidifying her position as a woman influencer in the sports and arena business.
“Look how much better off sports are today,” Latimer said.
“There are women general managers and coaches and there are women presidents of teams now that didn’t exist before,” she said. “Hopefully this has been running parallel to my career and I’ve done my job to make it better.”
