Niagara County residents can receive health information and participate in a variety of outdoor activities on Fridays through August.
Fresh Air Fridays runs from 1 to 3 p.m. at various parks across the county. The program is sponsored by the county Department of Health, in partnership with P3 Center for Teens, Moms and Kids and the Healthy Moms Healthy Babies Coalition.
Each event will feature a different theme with free, family friendly activities, snacks and prizes. Representatives from various organizations will be onsite with resources and information for families, including childhood development, childhood immunizations, lead prevention, and child safety.Â
“Play is an essential tool for learning,” said Eileen Kineke, director of Perinatal and Infant Community Health at the P3 Center. “Fresh Air Fridays will provide opportunities for play by bringing families together in public outdoor spaces throughout the summer.”
This week, the theme “Magic of Your Imagination” Friday in Krull Park, 6108 E. Lake Road, Olcott. The s will take place on July 19 at the Canal Street Gazebo, 69 Canal St., Lockport.
“Move Through Your Senses” is scheduled for July 26 at the North Tonawanda Library, 505 Meadow Drive, North Tonawanda. A Women Infants and Children, or WIC, event, is set for Aug. 2 at 3200 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls. On Aug. 9, “Discovering Waterways” will take place in Oppenheim Park, 2713 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls.
An event called “Move and Connect” is scheduled for Aug. 16 in Pendleton Park, 6570 Campbell Blvd., Lockport. “Being a Team Player,” will be held Aug. 23 in the Kenan Center, 433 Locust St., Lockport, and, on Aug. 30, “Magic of Your Imagination” will take place at Artpark, 450 S. 4th St., Lewiston. Â
