That was Marv Levy in the ‘80s and ‘90s with the Buffalo Bills. It’s still Marv Levy today.
His most famous quote – “Where else would you rather be than right here, right now?” – is recited to a crowd of more than 70,000 before every Bills home game. It speaks to seizing the game in front of you, living in the moment, playing for each other. It’s a message that transcends both the man and his teams.
Levy is a Hall of Fame coach, and his Jim Kelly-era Bills of the ‘90s played in four straight Super Bowls. The younger half of the Bills Mafia is too young by a generation or two to remember those days. But they still embrace those words, and they honor the man who first said them before every game.
